Christmas eve with la familia! :)

Too excited for this year. More adventures with Him! #2013

Too excited for this year. More adventures with Him! #2013

More pink in the bag

Saying goodbye to college one term at a time. This one’s going to be the last one with formal classroom lectures because next term will be all thesis and OJT. So what better way to make the most of my classes than with pretty notebooks and pens! Also got a new iPad case because I broke mine haha. (Lea, lookie we’re twins!)

Room Revamp: Paris is always a good idea

I love being on the move. After staying in Singapore for five months and along Taft Avenue for a year, I’m back home. I now have more time with the fam - kulit sisters, yummy home-cooked meals and fresh air!

Moving back felt like the perfect chance for a room revamp. And being the hoarder that I am, the things that I’ve accumulated over that time called for it too! My room is now full of Paris, Audrey Hepburn, my childhood, and pops of color amid black and white. :)

I swapped beds with my sisters after getting used to a single bed and the soft mattress. (Goodbye, chocolate bar headboard.)

More space for a chair (from the living room teehee) recently upholstered in a beautiful houndstooth!

The bed brought with it so much space that I also took the bookshelf from my sisters’ room haha! They used it for their toy boxes. I arranged my books by color for a neat OC feel.

The mini mannequin that I will never regret buying from the Cuenca bazaar for P100. And my little mermaid thingamabob that I brought home after watching its Disney on Ice show about ten years ago. :)

My beloved Little Mermaid (from my dear friend Kye) and Anastasia wind-up musical jewelry boxes! :)

Finally hung the little Paris frames on the wall.

My first tile painting from an art class in elementary, thus the huge ‘Bea’ signature.

Nic got me the red Keep Calm for my birthday, not knowing that I bought one a few days before. They only emphasize how much I want to see the world!

Here is the before of my room. Plus my first dorm and second dorm. :)

Five Things #5: The past few weeks in munches and pages

I just couldn’t detach myself from The Fault In Our Stars, even if I had read it almost a month before. I think it’s partly because of its pretty cover.

Johnny Rockets’ opening night at ATC. Milkshakes to die for!

A late friday afternoon with chocolate milk and the last few pages of Paper Towns.

With Ana and Andrea, having our own dinner date on the night of our parents’ anniversary.

The perfect breakfast at Gram’s: bacon, sunny-side up and sweet baby pancakes!

Five Things #4

I had just finished reading Catching Fire when I realized that I unfortunately left Mockingjay back at the dorm. (Sweet Peeta will have to wait.) To compensate, I ran over to Fully Booked the other day and scored the last copy of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (plus a back issue of Vogue from Booksale).

Self-explanatory.

This beautiful pink satchel from Nic!

Peach lip balm from Beauty Bar, a giveaway from Erika’s surprise dinner. It tastes like iced tea! But I think I like the design of its little tin tub even more.

More pink! Book light from Smiggle, Singapore

Before my dear Nic left for her home in Cebu, she gave me this beautiful gift - inside and out! I was so hesitant to open it because the black & white damask wrapper, pink and green ribbons, and ‘b’ card were so perfect, so me, I didn’t want to ruin it. But when I brought myself to unwrap it (as neatly as possible), inside was the hot pink 13” satchel I’ve been eyeing! Love. Thanks bai! You know me too well! :* Gimingaw ko nimo!

Blackberry Bunny

One of the five things I’m loving this week is my new adorable blackberry case. It’s pink, has bunny ears and a fluffy round tail. What more can I ask for! I bought it for just P180 from my friend Kara at her up and coming online store called Ksays. :)

Beautiful Home Office Designs at Chictip.com

Inferring from my utter lack of posts, my past week was busy but certainly productive (and exciting too). I had a night spent over at QC with my best friends and two long days shooting our midterm project for Video Production. I also started my internship at Hinge Inquirer!

For my first day, I did extreme organizing work for Ad Congress. So I got to see all the creative entries for the Araw Awards! I also love that the office is just ten minutes away from Taft Ave. Can’t wait for more work next Wednesday. More to blog about!

Black faux fur and pink rose throw pillows that add a touch of chic to my bed

Inspired by one of my favorite bloggers, Emily, who ends every week on a positive note by posting five things that are currently making her happy. I thought that since I love pretty little things and I’d usually share something random here out of the blue, I could finally consolidate them into these posts. Here’s my first five. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Flawless Bloggers’ Night @ Borough, Podium

On the 29th of September, I got to meet and chat with great company and taste the best American comfort food at Borough, Podium to kick off Flawless’ 10-week countdown to National Flawless Day, its 10th anniversary. I just have to say that Borough’s ambiance and interiors are lovely - soft floral printed seats, vintage pieces on shelf cases, New York life in frames hung rather careless on the walls (I fought this urge to straighten them).

And the food, glorious! We had Grilled Cheese sandwiches and Tomato Soup for starters, Beer Battered Fish and Chips for main, and the most delightful Mom’s Milk and Cookies for dessert.

Pink, pink, pink!

It was also a night of catching up with my best friend Bea.

Shen, Brigitte, Belle, Josh, me, Isa of Flawless, Char, Regina, Angelique, Say, and Janica.

And of course, we just had to order another round of milk and cookies before we left. There’s just something about the milk!

Each of us went home with with fab beauty products and GCs. I can’t wait to visit one of the branches for an afternoon of pampering. Kristine says I’ll love it because everything is pink. I just can’t get enough!

Flawless is starting the first week of the countdown with its Forever White collection at 40% off! I think I’ll try the Body Bleach Scrub after that week of basking under Bohol sun. Haha. And I’m definitely going back to Borough! ;)

Paper + envelopes + pink

(Lined notebooks (Set of 5), P145; Craft letter set, P75; Double end hexagon pen, P45; Highlighter, P55, all from Muji at Rockwell)

Ever since I was a little girl, I’d stock up on all sorts of stationery. And I’d keep them in a box that unfolds into a mini desk with drawers! I also collect notebooks with pretty cover designs and wonder when I’ll ever get to use them. Haha.

If you’re a paper hoarder like me, you’ll love Muji. While I was paying at the counter, I learned that Muji is derived from Mujirushi Ryōhin, which is Japanese for no brand quality goodsAnd that’s exactly what they offer! They have all sorts of things - from items for school, the office, to the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and the closet. Practically everything. Here are a few school essentials I got for next term. :)

Sembreak Reads

(The Perks of Being A Wallflower, P299, Powerbooks ATC; The Catcher in the Rye, P560, Fully Booked Rockwell)

Almost a year, I tell you! I’ve been looking all over, everywhere, even in Singapore, for The Perks Of Being A Wallflower in this cover. Heehee. The other printed version has the plain lime yellowish cover. The stores either had those or they were sold out. Usually the latter. Until..

I was in Powerbooks the other day, checking the latest and the bestsellers wall, when I saw it! It was resting on its small individual shelf right at the center of all the other books on the wall. A few minutes later, I was skipping out the door, hugging the book in its brown package.

I’m about halfway through it already and it’s inspiring me to read even more and listen to the oldies. I love that Charlie (the wallflower!) loves Asleep by The Smiths. He even actually recommended The Catcher in the Rye, which is my next read!

It took longer for me to buy that one though. I’m extremely picky when it comes to buying books! While at the shop, I rummage through the entire stock to carefully check and pick the one with none or the least specks of dirt or tiny folds at the edges. Also, the cover design has to be pretty, the paper off-white, and the font must be.. acceptable. These all apply unless the book really is second-hand or ancient of course. Haha. #OCness

Packing these right now for our Bohol trip tomorrow!
