Today, I

  • Made crepe de nutella for Andrea. (But she wanted it plain. So I ate it instead.)
  • Shifted all the furniture in my room.
  • Cooked dinner with mother.
  • Begged dad to eat the last Magnum because I was tired of being constantly drawn to the freezer.
  • Miss the beach.
  • Miss surfing.
  • Miss skimboarding.
  • Miss snorkeling.
  • Miss diving.
  • Miss kayaking.
  • Miss just floating away in the ocean. (Two more weeks, Cebu!)

Hi. I missed you! So I will put my face on my blog. Haha. Some bullets:
I’m back home temporarily for the Christmas break and I brought my soft pillows and fluffy duvet from my dorm. So with divine comfort, I’ve been sleeping in all week.
I have this habit of reading books simultaneously (which means never actually finishing some of them). Right now, I’m reading The Great Gatsby (the second time around) and Catching Fire (which I put on hold - a long one - after I bought some new ones).
Last night, for a costume Christmas party with the friends, I unearthed a Grecian goddess ensemble from my senior year (the glory days) and still managed to fit in it! Time to prep for everyone’s number one new year’s resolution. Get fit!
Speaking of getting fit, the fridge is full of leche flan, chocolate cake, oreo cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies! I can’t start just yet. #nomnom
And! I am loving Starbucks’ s’mores! Heehee. That is all.

Breakfast with Holly Golightly

There was one night that I went to bed at 3am (and I considered it sleeping early!). But after tossing and turning, I threw off the covers and told Via I was starving, which she said she was too. ln a minute, we were both staring at the popcorn pack expanding in the microwave. It wasn’t enough though. So when the clock struck 4, we were calling Mcdonald’s for breakfast! And I decided to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the nth time too. “Moon river..”

At 4am this morning, Via and I were randomly looking through the McDonald’s US breakfast menu. There was one that stood out the most: the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit (left). Perfection. If Manila had that, I’d finally get around to eating breakfast everyday!

Remembering: White Party, December 2010

Before I left for Singapore, mom and I organized a dinner party at home with close friends and family to celebrate my birthday a month in advance and the debut I never had. A long table was set up outdoors under sheer canopies and lanterns, shiny centerpieces, white balloons all over the ground.

The night stayed young and so did I! It was full of music, singing, stargazing, letters, delicious food and lovely company. Looking at these photos makes me want to do it all over again. Christmas is fast approaching!

I miss flying kites.

When my bro and I were little, Fort used to have more open fields. The weather would be perfect with just enough cloud cover and breezy winds. A lot of kids would be out flying kites too, decorating the sky with all sorts of hovering shapes, colors and sizes. Some families had blankets spread out on the grass for picnics.

Jerome and I would set up our kites under the trunk hood of the suv. I had one in the shape of a huge butterfly. He had a diamond - I think. Then we’d take them out with dad and find the perfect spot on the field. He’d help each of us get our kites up by throwing it into the air. Then we’d be across him, tugging the string swiftly and firmly as we break into a run against the wind to get them higher up. When the wind stopped blowing or we didn’t tug fast enough, our kites would crash of course. But nothing stopped us from flying again. And again.

This obsession with pink makes me want to barf rainbows. Heehee. I traded laptop cases with Yana. My satin salmon pink to transparent hot pink! It matches my keyboard cover. Love it!

Currently having my milk tea fix. Things didn’t go as planned today. But I always love spontaneity! I was supposed to go to Ateneo with Kristine but I had to stay for a philosophy lecture, which didn’t exactly push through. I’m glad I was able to watch short films A at Cinemalaya today with Nic though. They were so inspiring. Beautifully shot, scripts well written. We’re going back tomorrow after class to see more films. Can’t wait! I really wanted to see Ang Babae sa Septic Tank but all the shows are sold out already. Heard it got great reviews. :)

I really have to take my camera to the repair shop soon. The lens is still busted. Oh, and my pink(!) hard drive as well!

After five months of living in another country, I still

  • say “take away” at fastfood restos.
  • stay on the left side of streets and escalators.
  • think I can just go downstairs and have chicken rice and legit milk tea.
  • keep Singaporean bills and coins in my wallet.
  • think it’s safe to walk out in the street late at night.
  • “live in Kent Ridge, Singapore” on Facebook.
  • want to live, study and work in another country. Europe this time!

The shades in one of the pretty cafés in Singapore. I miss my second home.
Hi! :) Heehee. Just realized that it’s been a week and a half since I posted. I have much pending. Just a few bullets here:
I’ve been tweeting so much ever since I activated BB social - finally! I’m still so fascinated with it and BBM. Thus, the excessive tweets. Haha. I think I’m more updated there than here, which isn’t typical of me.
The DLSU Centennial Celebration was amazing! My camera died right before the program though. But it was just spectacular. The animo was so strong.
I love the dorm so much. I’m glad I get to rest a little longer than usual. Then on the weekends, I get to go home to the south, go to church and sleep beside my sisters. Haha.
Via’s flight from Singapore to Manila is tomorrow already! I miss her so much.

It’s three in the morning and I have to get up in another three hours. A few minutes ago, I switched my lanterns on and took out my Paris novel to help me fall asleep quicker. But now I’m beginning to hear the pitter-patter of rain on the window. Thank you, God my love. Now for a short but sound sleep.
